C.E.O. in Ministry of National Security in a traffic accident
At about three-thirty today, as he headed back to Belize City from the Police Passing-Out Ceremony, C.E.O. in the Ministry of National Security, George Lovell, was involved in a relatively serious road traffic accident. It happened on a slick stretch of road at mile forty near the Beaver Dam Bridge. Apparently Lovell’s driver was attempting to overtake a vehicle when another vehicle attempted to do the same. His driver allegedly tried to get back into his lane, but lost control and the Volkswagen car flipped before ending on the side of the road. When we arrived on the scene both Lovell and the driver had already left the scene, but we have been informed that fortunately, neither was seriously hurt. And just about ten miles more down the road, there was another accident, this one more serious. Traffic was help up as Police officers swept what appeared to be cement dust on an oil slick on the road. When we were allowed to pass, we observed a badly damaged BWS pickup truck on the side of the road. No information on that accident has been received at this time, and we’ll have more on that on Thursday.
So the driver of the vice-minister in the ministry of national security is not trained to drive defensively. Great. Let me guess. He was hired because, as is the long tradition at the UDP’s MNS, he is a loyal yes-man.
