Formal investigation launched into alleged sexual misconduct of Dangriga teacher

A formal investigation has been launched into allegations of sexual misconduct made against a primary school teacher in Dangriga.  On Monday, we reported that a trio of girls, standard two students at the primary school, had been molested by their music teacher.  The incident occurred last Thursday while the class was attending lessons at the church.  The instructor, a well-known musician in town, allegedly separated the children from their peers and proceeded to fondle them.  The matter was reported to the school’s administration the following day, despite complaints from parents that the vice principal was slow to respond.  The teacher has since been placed on administrative leave.  On Tuesday, officials from the Schools Management visited Dangriga where they met with the parents of the students.  A police report detailing the encounter has also been filed.  Meanwhile, we are told that a separate investigation being conducted by the school administration remains in its preliminary stage.
