George Dakers sentenced to 3 years for the indecent assault of a minor

George Dakers

A man who made the mistake of patting a child on her buttocks back in February of last year was sentence to three years in prison after being found guilty of the charge of aggravated assault of an indecent nature upon a minor.  This morning, forty-nine-year-old George Dakers, who is a first time offender, appeared unrepresented before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.  The victim, now thirteen, testified “en camera” this morning at the commencement of the trial which lasted for a little over an hour.  The child told the court that on May 11, 2013, her mother sent her to the home of a friend to borrow an object.  While at the residence the child met Dakers who touched her on her buttocks as she was leaving the home.  By eleven-twenty a.m., Dakers, a construction worker of a Freedom Street address, was found guilty of the offense.  When he heard the verdict, he seemed shocked.  Dakers was sentenced to three years at the Belize Central Prison effective today.  Dakers had been out on bail until his trial began today.

Im glad the system no longer playing with these “small offences” as some would refer them! its long overdue and high time that the System addressed and treat these perpetrators, pedophiles, child molesters and low lives to the full extend of the law. N for these good for nothing persons know and realize that their actions will not go on notice or brought to justice! proud of the little girl for standing up for herself and kudos to the parent/s for being by her side!

  3. Hater of Child Molesters says:

It’s about damn time these f***ing perverts get what they so rightly deserve, the only pity is that the kids they hurt are not the one who is given a soaked whip to tear into their backs.
There are lots of things in need of addressing in this country, one being amending the law to allow the authorities to put these child molesters out in the public eg at the foot of a bridge so that they can be disciplined in the form of slicing their butts and coring them with salt “the way that corned fishes is done”.

Every child has the right to live his or her life as a child. Childhood comes around only once and is very precious. Parents need to take time out to speak with their children on a daily basis, no matter how tired they may be. It is only through educating and talking that we can protect our kids from these distasteful perverts. Kudos to this little girl, you are one who spoke out so that justice could have been given in your case.

We thank the judge for her wisdom and the way she handled this case.

finally one victim has seen justice after so many gone under the rug, keep them for a while and make them work while in jail for their on maintenance while they pay for their crime.
