GSU carry out 2 anti-drug operations
The Gang Suppression Unit carried out two anti-drug operations over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon, the GSU searched the lower flat of a two storey concrete building on Mahogany Street. In one of the bedrooms of the apartment occupied by Barry Lee Wade and Elizabeth Ann Linares, the GSU says it found three large black plastic bags containing some eight point five pounds of cannabis. Both Wade and Linares were charged for the offence of Possession of Controlled Drugs with the Intent to Supply to Another. According to the GSU, Wade currently has a drug trafficking case before the San Ignacio Magistrate court for twenty-six parcels of cannabis weighing twelve kilograms of cannabis reportedly found on him back in April 2013. Earlier on Saturday, the GSU searched an empty lot at the Eight Miles Community on the George Price Highway where a total of one hundred and forty-two grams of cannabis was found in a black plastic bag. No one was in the area at the time of the search, but the lot, says the GSU, is adjacent to the house of a reputed drug peddler.
