US Fugitive caught in Belize
A wanted American fugitive, who is believed to have skipped out of the United States while being on parole in Hawaii, was caught in Belize on Thursday. The wanted man has been identified as forty-two year old Cody Safadago, who is from the Washington State. Safadago was detained at a home on Ben Bow Street. According to immigration authorities, Safadago was staying with a Belize City man who has been identified as Roy Lemott. He was scheduled to be taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today but due to the availability of a magistrate to arraign him on an immigration offense, he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until Monday. Safadago has since been charged for failure to present himself to an immigration officer at the point or place of arrival which is contrary to entry requirements. The home owner is expected to be charged as well next week. According to immigration authorities, Safadago was on parole in respect to a case of abuse upon his wife.
