2 men charged for daylight robbery in Corozal Free Zone
Four persons have been charged in connection with the daring robbery at the Corozal Free Zone. The crime happened in the parking lot of the Fabrica de Mayoreo this past Tuesday and within minutes, two men escaped with one point two five million pesos, which comes out to approximately two hundred and eight thousand Belize dollars. The money lifted by the robbers was to be used by forty-eight-year-old Mexican national Ricardo Villasenor to purchase goods from the store. But Corozal police were quick on their feet and by Thursday, twenty-one-year-old Benigno Loria of San Andres Village in the Corozal District and another man was arrested and charged for the crime of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. This afternoon, News Five spoke via phone with the Deputy Officer Commanding the Corozal Police, Assistant Superintendent Daniel Arzu, who says that two others will be charged for the robbery.

“Two persons have been charged for conspiracy to robbery. We are proceeding into an identification parade shortly and we are hoping to charge two others for the robbery.”
