Two plead not guilty to burglary charges
In other court news, two men were arraigned today for burglary and assault before Magistrate Harry Hulett. Nineteen year old Jovi Carballo was this afternoon read charges of one count of aggravated burglary and two counts of aggravated assault, along with a charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, which is shared jointly with seventeen year old Floyd Gladden. Both men pleaded not guilty and were granted bail of five thousand dollars. They are to reappear in court on April fifth.
The charges stem from an incident on March fourth in which Patricia Anderson of Oleander Street in Belize City reported to police that Carballo, Gladden, and Elterio McKenzie drove up to her house, asked for her brother Rosendo, and when they found him, attacked him with a machete. While Carballo and Gladden were arrested, police have yet to locate Elterio McKenzie.
