2 men injured in motorcycle accident on George Price Highway
Earlier we told you about a motorbike accident in Belize City which claimed the life of a five year old. There was another incident on the George Price Highway on Saturday, and again, a motorcycle was involved. It happened at around two p.m.; about one hundred yards in front of a News Five team heading west. Two men were on a motorcycle heading in the direction of Belize City. At around Mile forty-four the motorcycle turned on its indicator to signal that it was coming off the highway, and slowed down. That’s when a Toyota van behind the motorcycle slammed into it. Both men were thrown to the ground. Our team was on the scene and reports that both men received serious injuries, with the driver the more serious of the two. We are told that one of his ears came completely off. Both men were conscious, with the driver screaming in pain. They were assisted into a Police vehicle and taken to the Western Regional Hospital. This evening Belmopan Police told News Five that the driver, Jose Sultan of Cotton Tree, was later transferred to the K.H.M.H. where he is listed in serious condition.
