Police officer convicted of rape of 12 year old
A police officer has been convicted of the rape of a twelve year old girl. At three this afternoon a jury of his peers declared by unanimous verdict that forty-nine year old Evan Reynolds is guilty of two counts of rape. Following the foreman’s announcement, Justice Adolph Lucas told Reynolds, “The jury as a body has found you guilty of rape. You will be remanded to March eighth when you will be sentenced.” During the trial the victim told the court that on two separate occasions between December 2003 and February 2004, Reynolds had sex with her against her will. The police officer had taken the stand in his own defence to deny the allegations.
