Julian Castillo honoured by Scout Association
During ceremonies held last night by the Scout Association of Belize, the inaugural Leopold Balderamos Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Julian Castillo. Castillo joined the Scouts in 1960 and since that time has served the association in various roles, including as a member of the executive committee, Chief Scout, and is currently the Chairman of the Belize Scout Endowment Foundation. The award was presented to Castillo by Josephine, the wife of the late “Poli” Balderamos and Scout patron, Governor General Sir Colville Young. According to officials, the honour is designed to highlight initiative and devotion to family, country, and the Scout movement as portrayed in the life of Leopold Balderamos.
