Man murdered by stepson in PG
Another life was taken over the weekend but in southern Belize. Sixty-nine year old Norman Benguche Senior, who is employed by the Belize Water and Sewerage Authority, was stabbed three times on the back by his stepson. The stabbing occurred when Benguche was having breakfast at his family home in Punta Gorda. His stepson, David Branson, reportedly inflicted the wounds with a knife. Benguche died shortly after the Sunday morning stabbing while undergoing urgent medical attention. A family dispute reportedly resulted from the stabbing. The Punta Gorda police say they have detained Benson.

“Sometime after ten-fifteen a.m., on Sunday the twenty-seventh day of April 2014, Punta Gorda Town police visited the Punta Gorda town hospital where they saw a dark skinned male persons whom they later learned to be one Norman Benguche Sr., sixty-nine year old resident of Punta Gorda Town. Initial investigation revealed that earlier the morning, Benguche and his step son had a misunderstanding and he inflicted three stab wounds on Benguche. Benguche succumbed to his injuries while undergoing surgery. Police later detained one David Branson, twenty-four year old who is believed to have been the step-son of Benguche. There was some misunderstanding at the residence of the decease and apparently the step-son was staying at the same residence at the time.”
