Three wounded in City shooting
Three young Belize City men remain hospitalized after they were wounded in a shooting near Magazine Road. Police say twenty year old Nikki Pickard, thirty-two year old Sherwin Nunez, and thirty-four year old Carlos Abraham were hanging out in an alley off Banak Street this morning around eight when a white van pulled up. One of the vehicle’s occupants exited and fired a total of seven shots from a small firearm. Several bullets caught Pickard in the left shoulder, right arm, and the right side of the neck, while both Nunez and Abraham received gunshot wounds to their left legs. All three victims, who declined to speak with News Five, are reported to be in a stable condition. Police say they do not know why the young men were shot but they hope that the one person they have detained will be able to assist them in the investigation.
