B.F.L.A. fundraises with valentine cards
St. Valentine’s Day is only three days away and that means there is only limited time to buy that special someone a gift. This year the Belize Family Life Association, through its Youth Advocacy Movement, is encouraging Belizeans to try something local to express that feeling of love. YAM members have been busy making wooden cards for the occasion, not only to offer something new, but to raise funds to support their programmes.

?To me it more looks like an after school activity, come in after school and start working on orders that we have received for this Valentine?s sale. Proceeds from these will go towards our youth group development and of course each young person who has been participating in making this activity a success will get their stipend or commission as they would call it.?
?Valentine is a time for love and everybody wants to give another person a card and better yet, give them a keepsake one that they will keep for years instead of one that you could just buy at Angelus Press for three something and then after a while, oh I di clean up Christmas cleaning and then you end up throwing that out and need something new. So to me this is more, what I would call sustainable.?
The wooden cards are on sale for ten dollars. You are encouraged to place your orders by contacting the B.F.L.A. at telephone number 203-1018.
