Attorney says documents to be submitted by May 29th
Having exhausted all avenues to proceed with the private prosecution of Elvin Penner, Musa says that they are anticipating the prime minister’s assistance in handing over the files that are presently in his possession. Those documents should be submitted before May twenty-ninth.
Kareem Musa, Attorney for COLA
“Since nobody else wants to cooperate with us, not the commissioner of police, not the auditor general, not the D.P.P., not anybody, none of these authorities want to cooperate with us, we are asking Mr. Prime Minister, you Mr. Prime Minister who suggested to COLA and suggested to the P.U.P. that you institute a private prosecution against Elvin Penner, since you are in possession of these documents kindly provide us with that material so that we can proceed on May twenty-ninth to provide disclosure to the defendant.”
COLA is equally hopeful that it will not have to subpoena witnesses to provide materials relevant to the trial when the court reconvenes for disclosure of evidence at the end of the month.
