City man charged with sexual assault of ten year old

A Belize City man is behind bars tonight, accused of sexually assaulting a ten year old girl. Twenty year old Basilio Bolon appeared before Magistrate Margaret McKenzie where he was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of threatening words. Police allege that Bolon first made advances on the child on January twenty-sixth and tried again just yesterday. On this occasion, the girl says that Bolon told her, “Noh tell nobody or else I will kill you and go back where I come from.” Bolon requested bail, telling the Magistrate that he has constructive things to do, to which Mrs. McKenzie replied, “You can do constructive things back a jail.” Bolon will reside in Hattieville until his next court date on February twenty-eighth.
