City youth charged in Wednesday night shooting
Belize City police say they do not know if twenty-one year old Stephen Yearwood was the intended victim of a shooting incident on Wednesday night, but the young man lies in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with a bullet wound to the right side of his neck. According to police, they strongly believe this man, twenty year old Jeremy Rhaburn, is the triggerman. Authorities say their investigations reveal that around seven that night Yearwood, who lives on Rhaburn’s Alley, was along with a group of young men hanging out in the area when two guys rode by on bicycles. One of the riders pulled out a nine millimetre handgun and fired several shots. Meanwhile, hospital authorities report that Yearwood remains in a serious but stable condition. Today, Rhaburn was charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm in connection with the shooting.
