Ras Indio, Artist
“Big up to all my beautiful Belizeans worldwide. Yeah man, we have to plant di corn. The corn stands for many different things, but right now in this time food is very essential. Jah say fi plant the earth with food so that we can nourish our bodies. So this song is basically about that, but really in conjunction with the situation weh di happen with my BGYEA brothers.”
Duane Moody
“Why was it necessary for you to put this together and in support of BGYEA?”
Ras Indio
“Well you know, music is very powerful and you know everybody use music for whatever reason. We learn wi ABC through music so we never forget certain things. So again whenever these topics come up, I choose music to express how I believe most of the people would like to say but a lot of people noh like speak out. Well the music allows me to speak out how I want and that’s why I decided to do this song, Plant Di Corn, for my brothers them…BGYEA. It is gonna be on the internet, it is going to be on YouTube; it is going to be everywhere. And it is actually done by a Moroccan producer. The guy who made the music behind this track is a guy from Morocco, a guy I met in California. So when you hear this riddim, you wah like this riddim; it is very professional done for sure and it is going to be marketed in Spain, Romania, all over the world. And again, the corn works for many different things.”
“Now the video, putting it together; who was the producer for it and the concept behind the video?”
Ras Indio
“Well I have a close friend that I have been working with, family friend. So I have to big up Pryce Box Films, Nadir Pryce. He is the reason why we’ve been getting a lot of good works done lately. And you will tell in this video that the quality…everyone of our video is getting a little better, a little better.”
Ras Indio leaves the country next week for Belize Caye Fest in Los Angeles, California.
