Clarence Richards receives tail end of officer’s gun
A Belize City resident, Clarence Richards, is alleging police harassment and brutality. Richards says that while he was at home with his common law wife, they were awoken by the cops and that ordeal ended up with twelve stitches on his face. Richards claims that Queen Street won’t listen to him and so he has turned to the media to expose the rogue cops.

Before I could get to di door, dehn bruk in my door and start to harass me and di ask me fi wah young bwai weh name Marlon. I tell dehn I noh know who name so; only me and mi lady deh yah. Dehn start to harass me and di tell me put on my light. When I put on my light dehn still di ask me bout Marlon. I tell dehn I noh know who name Marlon, I name Clarence Richards. Ih she yoh got wah ID. I show ah mi ID and everything. I ask ah fi ih name and ih badge number. Ih would not give it to me, ih refuse fi give it to me. I gone fi get my phone fi call 911 fi mek dehn know I got wah policeman di harass me. Same way he stretch ova my female and gun butt me inna my face and cause dis injury. Twelve stitch I get ova my face yah, twelve stitch.”
