Money changer shot in Corozal
A money changer from San Joaquin, Corozal, narrowly escaped death today when he was targeted shortly after five this morning. Forty-seven-year-old Martin Guerra was shot after he left his brother’s house in the Santa Rita area of Corozal Town. Guerra was driving his Dodge Caravan towards the Philip Goldson Highway when he detected a man with a red rag over his face and dressed in a brown shirt and blue plants. Guerra told the police that he sped away but heard a loud bang and soon blood was streaming down his face. When he got to a safe area, he noted that his vehicle had been damaged.
