Teenager charged in Dennis “Ticky” Gladden murder

A Belize City teenager has been arrested and charged for murder following police investigations into the death of twenty-five year old Dennis “Ticky” Gladden. Ronlee Petillo, who turned eighteen on the day of the murder, was this afternoon taken to Belize City’s Magistrate Court where he was formally arraigned for the crime. He appeared before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers who remanded the accused to Hattieville prison until his next court date on February sixteenth. Gladden was gunned down on Tuesday night as he was sitting on his bicycle near the corner of West and Prince streets. Witnesses report seeing someone wearing a black shirt and long pants on a beach-cruiser ride up to the victim and fire a single shot. Gladden was rushed to the K.H.M.H. suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
