Career criminal charged once again
Also charged in Magistrate’s Court today was a man accused of burglary. And while the arraignment of thirty-six year old David Sosa involved just another Belize City housebreaking, what made Sosa special is that this is the forty-third time that he has been brought up on criminal charges. With twenty-two convictions, his batting averages hovers near five hundred and includes such offences as theft, wounding, damage to property, car theft, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, drug possession, indecent assault, aggravated assault, threatening words, dangerous harm, using deadly means of harm, throwing missiles, and perverting the course of public justice. Sosa’s burglary charge will be heard on February ninth. Until then he’ll cool his heels in the familiar confines of Hattieville Prison.
