Milt looms large in Jazz victory over Pistons
He’s had his ups and downs in terms of playing time and performance this season but Belize’s man in the N.B.A., Milton Palacio, received rave reviews Saturday night as his Utah Jazz upended the league leading Detroit Pistons. Milt proved to be Mr. Clutch in overtime when, with his team holding a slim 90-88 lead with thirty-seven seconds remaining, he hit a jump shot to give the Jazz a four point buffer. When Ben Wallace put in a lay-up for two, Milt answered with this aggressive drive through the lane that put the game on ice. Palacio also loomed large on defence. At the end of regulation play he blanketed the Pistons’ Chauncey Billups, forcing him to miss what would have been the game winning shot. The Jazz, whose record stands at an even seventeen and seventeen, tonight take on the Washington Wizards.
