5 teens charged in robbery attempt
The boys may all be between the ages of thirteen and fifteen, but that did not prevent them from being charged for the armed hold-up of a seventeen year old. According to Errol Villanueva, a sales clerk, around seven-thirty on Friday night he was walking along Central American Boulevard when upon reaching the intersection with Pine Street, he was approached by five youths who demanded that he hand over his pay. According to Villanueva, one of the assailants took out a knife and another pulled out a gun. As he tried to run, one of the other boys hit him in the face with a piece of board. According to police reports, even after Villanueva was physically assaulted he would not yield to his attackers and refused to hand over his money. Luckily, Villanueva was able to escape into a nearby yard. The five were charged with attempted robbery and grievous harm.
