Travis Navarro to stand trial for the murder of Dennis Gonguez Jr.
Dennis Rajiv Gonguez Junior, the son of the Chief Meteorologist met his untimely death on April twenty-ninth 2013 when he was executed in front of Brown Sugar Marketplace on North Front Street. Gonguez Jr. and a friend, Jayme Marin, were exiting the compound, when a slim dark complexion man, who reportedly lay-waited them, approached and fired up to six shots. Gonguez Jr., was shot once in the face and once in the chest and died on the spot. Three days after his murder, police detained Travis Tyler Navarro for the murder. His P.I. concluded late Wednesday afternoon and while he did not challenge any of the statements tendered into evidence by prosecutor Sgt. Egbert Castillo, Navarro who was unrepresented in court says, he was innocent of the crime. Well today, Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith committed Navarro to stand trial for the murder of Gonguez Junior. Navarro will reappear at the October session of the Supreme Court which is set to commence on October seventh, 2014.
