Deejay on bail for carnal knowledge of 13-year-old

A Belize District deejay has been arrested and charged with carnal knowledge following a report by a thirteen year old girl. According to court reports, the minor, accompanied by her mother told police that between November and December of 2005 she had sex with eighteen year old Shane Vargas. A medical examination has confirmed that the teen was carnally known. As a result, today Vargas was formally arraigned on two counts of unlawful carnal knowledge and one count of grievous harm. He has been granted bail of four thousand dollars. The matter was adjourned to February sixth. News Five understands that the victim has identified Vargas as her boyfriend to the court.
