Linette Canto

“The idea was to give back to our customers. So we had this ongoing promotion where SMART customers were able to text in and predict the winners in the World Cup competition. And so how that worked is that one point was awarded for every correct team prediction and if the person got the correct score, they were awarded three additional points for a total of four. Mister Grajales accumulated a total of one thousand two hundred and seventy points.”

Duane Moody

“Tell us about all that he gets?”

Linette Canto

“Actually he won a World Cup party which will be hosted on Sunday. At that party, he and about twenty to twenty-five of his friends will be able to watch the final competition on the forty-six inch TV that he won and also food and drinks will be provided. We partnered with Grace Beverage Center and as you can see behind me, there is an assortment of goodies that he will be able to enjoy at his party.”

Andres Grajales, Winner, SMART World Cup Challenge

“Yes I feel good to be the winner; to have won the flat screen TV and to win a party for about twenty people; it feels good and I am excited.”

Duane Moody

Andres Grajales

“Well I follow the world Cup; from the beginning I follow it, but I got majority of the games…winning or the scores the scores itself; of course I missed one or two of them.”

Andres Grajales

“No, it is not a trick…you study the games and you try to check on the previous records of the teams to see how they fared off before the match that you are predicting on—if they have improved, if they met that team already and so forth.”
