Traffic accident claims life of Maurice Sedacey
And heading up north, a Sand Hill resident was hit and killed this afternoon shortly after two. Fifty-six year old Maurice Daniel Sedacey, better known as “D”, was riding his bicycle on the highway about a half mile from his home when a Dodge Ram heading in the direction of Belize City knocked him off his bicycle at mile nineteen near Edgewater Bar. One eyewitness said the vehicle was moving so fast that when the driver applied brakes he skidded along the road for about two hundred yards before coming to a complete stop.

“I was going to Belize and I was sitting under the shed with my son and I see Mr. D di come with like six pint bottle inna wah plastic bag. When he about to reach me, I just mi wah seh Mr. D and I mi wah seh where are you going with those pint bottles? Same time I look and I see a blue pickup di come under a ball ah speed. And right in front of me I saw he hit, and he fly up and he drop on his head. I was frightened, I ran home. I miss all the bus just sake of that. And I went and looked at him, and I said he was dead. I went and tell his father and that is all I see.”

“Yup, they stop until the police come and carry the body then they gone behind.”
The driver of the Dodge Ram, Mark Connorquie, has not been charged as the investigation is still ongoing.
