Deadly freak accident ends Cayo girls’ night out

Death by hug…the bizarre incident that ended a drunken “girls night out” in Santa Elena has shocked the nation. Reports to News Five are that thirty-two year old Rita Myvette was with her friend, Alma Woodeye and three other women at her one-storey home on Bradley Street in Santa Elena having a party on Friday night. The get-together lasted until the wee hours of Saturday. Woodeye told police that around six that morning, she decided to leave. Myvette was sitting on the veranda and asked Woodeye for a hug. But when Woodeye leaned in, the chair Myvette was in gave out and both women fell off the porch. Myvette was rushed to the San Ignacio hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Twenty-six year old Alma Woodeye was admitted to ward suffering from a head injury, but has since been released. Police continue their investigations. We understand Rita Myvette will be buried on Friday.
