D.P.P. sends memo to withdraw murder charge
A charge has also been withdrawn against a Belize City man, this time for murder in connection with the deadly shooting of a local mechanic. According to court reports, Roger Anthony and Mark Alamilla were both initially charged in the death of Lloyd Bodden. Bodden was killed on February tenth as he was working on a car in front of his house in the Lake Independence Area. But on Thursday, Director of Public Prosecutions Kirk Anderson sent a memo to Magistrate Sharon Fraser requesting that the charge of murder be withdrawn against Anthony. As a result, Anthony left the court a free man. And because one man cannot conspire by himself, the second charge of conspiracy to commit murder is also expected to be dropped against both Anthony and Alamilla. The case against Mark Alamilla is expected to begin during the next sitting of the Belize City Supreme Court.
