Cadet Corps holds lunch for city?s homeless
One hundred plates in five minutes…that’s just how long it took members of the National Youth Cadet Service Corps to serve food this afternoon to the city’s homeless and hungry. This is the second time the organisation has held lunch at the Battlefield Park. According to counsellor Michael Barrera, today’s event is just one way the corps will show gratitude for all the help they have received this year.

?It?s a way of giving back to the community, saying that we appreciate what is being done for the cadets and allowing them to come out and give freely without expecting anything in return. We cooked a meal for them, rice and bean, chicken and salad, kind of Sunday day on Wednesday and we provided a hundred plates so ask to reach as many as we could.?
