Caribbean Shrimp Watchman Shot…

Christopher Noble

A security guard is recovering at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after he was shot on Saturday night. Alejandro Calderon told Police that he was inside his home at Caribbean Shrimp in Ladyville when somebody stoned his house. He came outside and was immediately hit with a single blast from a shotgun. The area is known to attract thieves, and it is from that angle that Police are starting their investigation at this point. Rural Executive Officer Chris Noble told News Five that they got the call after midnight on Saturday from Caribbean Shrimp owner Charlie Mackintosh.

ASP Christopher Noble, Rural Executive Officer

“We understand that earlier in the night a gentleman who’s a watchman in a farm in the area did receive an injury that we are suspecting is a shotgun blast. The gentleman has been taken to the hospital and treated and we are looking at who may have been the persons targeting him or if he was just in an area where somebody may have fired a shot and injured him. We’re not certain of how or why at this stage, but it is under investigation and we are looking into it.”

“We know that over time this property has been the target of criminals on other occasion. Is that a factor?”

ASP Christopher Noble

“We’re definitely looking at it in that way. If over the past there were incidents in which people would enter the area and try to take things from it is something that we are definitely looking at.”

Calderon received pellet wounds all over his body and is considered lucky to be alive.
