Man Dies in Boom while Socializing…
Police have not released the name of a man who died at the health centre in Burrell Boom on Saturday. According to reports, the man was drinking in front of the gas station in the village when he allegedly complained that he was not feeling well. He was immediately taken to the health centre and died there. According to Rural Executive Officer Christopher Noble, Police are waiting on a post-mortem examination to determine the thrust of their investigation and to confirm or rule out the possibility of foul play.
ASP Christopher Noble, Rural Executive Officer
“There’s a gentleman that was socializing in Burrell Boom and he had a situation. He was taken to the health centre in Burrell Boom and he succumbed. That is to our knowledge suspect. We do have an autopsy scheduled to see what may have caused his demise. The persons in the area are cooperating with us so we’re hoping that after an autopsy we may be able to say what actually transpired.”

“Is it being looked at as a sudden death or foul play?”
ASP Christopher Noble
“Every death at its initial stage is suspect. Like I said before, we don’t know what actually transpired. We are looking at where he was, and who he was with. And the end result will be the autopsy and the tests.”

“But we understand that he ingested a substance which it is thought led to this crisis.”
ASP Christopher Noble
“Well if he did ingest it, an autopsy would tell us.”

“Are you all…is anyone being questioned or looked at in terms of perhaps he was poisoned or is there any angle being looked at that a suspicious act may be involved in his ingestion of the substance?”
ASP Christopher Noble
“From all indications he was socializing so all persons in the area are being looked at, not as suspects but as part of the investigation. Had they been looked at as suspects they would have been detained. It’s that simple.”
