Michaels’ Death Still a Mystery…

Stephen Michael Jr.

The death of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist teacher, Stephen Michael Junior, shocked the community. Michael Junior was found dead on a bed inside his home at the corner of Jaguar Avenue and Tapir Street off Fabers Road Extension. He was found by his housekeeper bleeding from the mouth and nose and the door to his house was ajar. His father told News Five that several household items, his laptop, wallet and cell phone were missing. Initially his death was ruled as a homicide, but later police classified it as a case of sudden death. What led to Michael Junior’s demise is still unknown and an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday at one-thirty in the afternoon will determine whether in fact the twenty-eight year old primary school teacher was murdered. Officer Commanding Precinct Two, Senior Superintendent Alford Grinage gave an update on the investigation.

“CIB personnel observed the lifeless body of Steven John Michael lying on the bed. Initial investigation reveals that the maid came to the house about seven-forty-five a.m.; the maid that usually goes to clean and as a result, she identified the person lying on the bed in the room, hence the reason she called the police. The police upon arrival at the residence determined that it was Stephen John Michael, a former teacher of the Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist School and there were no signs of violence on the body. The body now lies at the K.H.M.H. morgue awaiting a post mortem. Since then, we have begun an investigation because after speaking to relatives and the father of the deceased person, we learnt that there are some items missing from the residence. We learnt that there is a flat screen TV that is missing, a laptop computer, his wallet and also a cell phone that was taken from the residence. At this time I am not able to say whether these items were taken upon the person’s death or before…so that matter is still under investigation and we are following other leads.  Yes, there were slight blood on the mattress of the bed and some foam substance coming out of his mouth, but we did not see any physical injuries on the body observed. It could have been internal; that’s why I mentioned that there are no signs of injury that the police observed from the outside.”
