San Pedro thief shot/convicted
A San Pedro man shot by police this week has been convicted of robbery. According to authorities, twenty-six year old Mark Jones was the man who entered Caye Coffee in the San Pablo area of town and robbed employees at knifepoint of cash and a cell phone. But investigating officers say when they approached Jones to question him about the incident, he pulled out a knife and came at them in a threatening manner. One of the constables shot him in the leg and he was treated and released at an island clinic. Jones has since been found guilty of the robbery in San Pedro Magistrate’s Court and sentenced to seven years behind bars.
