Gunman Targets Family in Belmopan
A Belmopan mother was holding her three month old son when she and her family were held up at gunpoint by an armed man. It happened on Tuesday afternoon when the Guity family was preparing to leave the river located in the Riviera area in the outskirts of the capital. According to twenty-eight year old Rory Guity, they had just finished swimming when they were approached by a lone gun man. The assailant pointed the gun at his wife’s head and demanded that they hand over all their valuables. In fear of their lives, the family did as was told providing the gunman with more than ten thousand dollars in jewelry and other personal belongings. The culprit then escaped in the nearby bushes with the loot. Police are looking for three men from Roaring Creek Village in connection with the incident.
