Lowell Navarro is Belize?s top CXC student
Two Belizean students have been honoured regionally for their academic excellence in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examinations. According to the Ministry of Education, Saint John’s College student Lowell Navarro is the country’s top scholar, while Jessica Chee of Saint Catherine’s Academy placed second. Navarro received nine grade ones in biology, Caribbean history, English A, Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Social Studies, Spanish, and Human and Social Biology, and a grade two in Chemistry. For his accomplishments, Navarro has been awarded the title of “most outstanding candidate.” Chee also received nine grade ones in subjects which include physics, Spanish, and information technology and has been named an outstanding candidate by the examinations council. Both students will be publicly honoured along with hundreds of their peers at the CXC national award ceremony scheduled for December fifteenth.
