CXC Results Are In
The preliminary results of the 2014 CXC Exams, sat in May and June, are in and, while the top scorers are yet to be named, a total of three thousand, forty-nine students signed up to sit thirty-two of the thirty-five subjects offered in the annual assessment. This year has seen a nominal decrease of one point eight percent in the number of participants when compared to 2013. Since 2012, the number of Grades One through Three in the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate, CSEC, has increased steadily from seventy-four point one to seventy-six point five percent this year. On the other hand, the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations, CAPE, saw eighty-two candidates participating, a majority of whom were female students. We emphasize that the results of both exams are preliminary. A date for the annual awards ceremony remains to be announced.
