Separate car thefts end in arrests
Meanwhile separate incidents of car jackings have resulted in arrests in Dangriga and Orange Walk. According to police, last weekend, Orange Walk resident Eder Urbina reported his white 1990 Grand Marquis missing from its spot in the yard. Several hours later, the vehicle was discovered in Crooked Tree, stripped and abandoned. Subsequent investigations have led to the arrest of twenty-eight year old Shane Tillett and twenty-three year old Agi Ramclam, both of Orange Walk. The men have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
The second incident occurred on Sunday in the New Site area of Dangriga. Mathilda Valentine reported that she parked her white 1990 Ford Tempo inside her yard, but when she woke up the next day, the car was missing. Police would later find Valentine’s vehicle in Ontario Village in the Cayo District crashed into the porch of a house. Observant villagers identified the crash artist and authorities later arrested twenty-three year old Nelson Palacio. Palacio was transferred to the Dangriga jurisdiction and later charged with theft of a motor vehicle and taking conveyance without authority of the owner.
