Bz/Mex culture officials meet to discuss future events

Story PictureToday in Belize City, Government officials hosted Mexican representatives in a cultural exchange between the two countries. Licenciado Octavio Chavez Galvadon, director of the Quintanarroense de la Cultura and Dr. Jose Luis Pech Varguez, Secretary of Education and Culture in Mexico arrived in the country this morning for a one-day working visit to Belize. Over the course of day, the visitors met with Minister of Culture, Mark Espat, Minister of Education Francis Fonseca, and President of the National Institute of Culture and History Yasser Musa. Following meetings, the delegation toured the House of Culture, the Museum of Belize, and the Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts. It is expected that the trip will be impetus for more cross border cultural activities between Mexico and Belize.
