Story PictureThey call themselves Via Vocalite and come Friday night, they plan to present holiday tunes in a plethora of musical genres to concert-goers. The event, entitled “Sounds of the Season,” will be held at the Fordyce Chapel on the grounds of Saint John’s College Junior College. According to Director Enrique Pech, proceeds of the performance will benefit the residents of the Dorothy Menzies Child Care Centre.

?Styles such as Calypso, the Caribbean Rhythms, the Lucian Flamenco. We will also be incorporating alternative rock styles with the traditional chorale music. So we will have a number of different items done in very innovative, creative ways.?

?The main purpose of this concert, the group Via Vocalite, is to showcase the talent of young people; we have seventeen year old Richard Pitts who will be doing saxophone and clarinet. So we want to showcase and highlight the talents of the young people, so they will be benefiting primarily. But in addition to that, Via Vocalite wants to make a Christmas contribution to a charitable cause and that organisation to benefit this year will be the Dorothy Menzies Child Centre. So we will be taking some toys and some goodies for them this Christmas.?

The concert starts at eight Friday night. Tickets, priced at twenty-five dollars each are available from group members, Mala’s, Venus Photos and Records, and CY’s Music Shop.
