Separate assaults against girls end in arrests

Police have arrested and charged a security guard with attempted rape following a report by a twelve year old. According to the minor, while playing in her yard in March of this year, thirty-six year old Lindel Gibson pulled her into a bedroom, locked the door, stripped her naked, and attempted to have sex with her. Today, Gibson appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord where he was committed to stand trial for attempted rape, attempted carnal knowledge, and attempted assault. Lord granted the accused bail in the amount of five thousand dollars and the matter was adjourned to the January session of the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile in Orange Walk, police there have arrested forty year old Santos Lopez of a Riverside Street address for four counts of unlawful carnal knowledge after a thirteen year old student reported to authorities that in December, February, and May Lopez had sexual intercourse with her.
