Galen Opens Its Doors in Belize City

Also on Saturday, Galen University officially opened its Belize City Branch on Mercy Lane, located just next door to the office of the Belize Family Life Association. The event was held simultaneously in Punta Gorda where the university also opened a branch. With ten centers country-wide, Local Marketing Director of the University, Farron Louriano, says that the university can now better cater to its students and make Galen more accessible and affordable.

“We are doing the online aspect of education. We feel as though we have to go to our students because having them leaving their families and coming to school; that is costly. So right now, we are doing an off campus program for the bachelors in primary education; that’s where we are offering it here instead of having them having to go to the BIM Building and using that, we have our own personal space now.  We have ten centers. These centers range from all the way in Corozal, down to PG; we also have on the islands in San Pedro and also in Caye Caulker. It is a wide range of our facilities whereby we are reaching to every culture from in PG to Corozal…everywhere.”

“Speak to us about the affordability of the education at Galen University and how this helps with that?”

“When it comes to primary education, we are offering all students a sixty-seven percent off of our per-credit-hour. Then last week, we had an open day where if you would apply and register in one day, you would get a twenty percent discount on your tuition if it was an undergraduate program and thirty-point three percent if it was a graduate program, the masters programs.  We at Galen, we offer quality; our lectures have masters degree and above. For you to get the best education, you have to invest in it. So we feel as though we are catering to everyone in Belize. In addition to that, we also offer our payment plans and also we work with you. You could come in, speak with our accounts office and set up something or someway where you can pay in installments or like for our bachelors in business administration, we have a way where we set it up for you to pay six hundred dollars a month for the two semesters and five months after you graduate. So it is catered to you even though you are finished and graduated, you can still pay on a timely manner.”

Galen University offers bachelors and masters degrees in several schools of studies including social science, business and entrepreneurship and science and technology in which a range of programs are available.
