Belize District Lodge members donate to Sr. Cecilia Home
As an institution their contribution to society is invaluable, but today the Sister Cecilia Home for the Elderly found itself on the receiving end of donation courtesy of the Belize District Grand Lodge. Lodge members donated baskets full of fruits that they received during their traditional harvest celebrations. According to Supervisor Rose Armstrong, the gift is a strong message to the residents that they are not forgotten or abandoned.

?It let me feel very impressed because I realise that the community is being more aware of the older persons in society and the Lodge being here is a good sign because we have some of their members that are residents here for quite some years, and it?s the first time they showed that they are aware and that they care about their members as they age, which is a good sign for us.?

?How many members you have here at the homes??
Rose Armstrong
?Well at present we have like forty-eight. We have a few empty beds, but we were doing some renovations. We have a waiting list and as soon as the renovations are finished then we will go through that list and more will be admitted because we have a capacity for fifty-three.?
