Ex-boyfriend charged with harm and burglary
Also in Magistrate’s Court today, twenty-four year old Frank Tejeda of Lord’s Bank was formally arraigned following an incident at his ex-girlfriend’s house in Belize City. According to Lisa Wright, sometime around seven on the night of November thirteenth Tejeda forced his way inside her home and punched her in the face. Wright reported the matter to the police and a doctor certified her injuries as harm. And since the law specifically states that any person who enters the house of another uninvited or with no legal reason to be there is guilty of burglary, Tejeda was also arraigned for that crime. Tejeda pleaded not guilty to both charges and was granted bail in the sum of four thousand dollars. He could face up to five years in jail for the burglary.
