$3,000 fine for stealing $1,500 gold chain
A Belize City man who tried to pull a fast one on a taxi driver has been found guilty and fined for his actions. Twenty-nine year old Shane Espinosa will have to pay three thousand dollars by December twenty-first or spend three years behind bars and keep the peace for a year. In July, Espinosa told Darwin McKenzie he had a bike to sell him, but when they got to the “sales rack” on Logwood Street, Espinosa pulled out a gun and stole McKenzie’s fifteen hundred dollar gold chain. The case was heard by Magistrate Margaret Gabb-McKenzie.
