Forged cheque used to buy big screen TV
Belize City police are tonight on the lookout for a man who bought a six thousand dollar T.V. with a bogus check. According to police, a sales representative for furniture and appliance emporium Courts has reported that a man claiming to be Samer Safa walked into the store on Wednesday and bought a forty-two inch plasma television. He paid the six thousand five hundred dollar price tag with an Atlantic Bank check in his name and left with the big screen. Courts deposited the check the same day but on Friday, the bank wrote to inform them that that account had been closed, therefore the check no good. Tonight we understand that police are seeking a suspect for questioning in connection with this incident.
