Cruise ship passenger goes missing on snorkel trip
For the third time in less than four weeks, officials are engaged in a search and rescue mission at sea. Details remain sketchy, but tonight we understand a tourist who arrived in Belize today on a cruise ship was out snorkelling with his wife and brother about a mile south east of Caye Caulker in an area known as Shark Ray Alley when he somehow became separated from his group and has not been seen since. According to police, the tourists had been in the water for about a half an hour and were in the company of a guide at the time of the incident. It is not clear whether the missing man was wearing a lifejacket or not. What we do know is that the group arrived today on the cruise ship, Norwegian Dream. Locals we spoke to tonight on the island tell News Five that police, residents of Caye Caulker, and the Belize Defence Force are still patrolling the waters in front of the caye.
