Tour Guide Recounts Shooting Death of Special Constable
Following the murder of Conorquie, Caracol has been closed indefinitely by the National Institute of Culture and History. The site is one of the most visited in the country, but the brazen, cold-blooded broad daylight murder has raised some serious security concerns. When Conorquie was shot, there was a tour in progress and tourists in the plaza. Tour Guide Luis Zaiden had taken three tourists to the site, and was in the middle of his rehearsed spiel on the ancient monument when they heard the first gunshot. He told News Five about the terrifying moments which followed.
Luis Zaiden, Tour Guide
