21 year old loses finger in machete assault
Later that night, twenty-one-year-old Edel Diaz, a resident of Salvapan, lost his left index finger when he was also attacked by a machete-wielding assailant. Diaz, who works as a warehouse assistant, was socializing with a few friends at a bar on Cemetery Road in Salvapan when Clifford Alvarado confronted him. A forceful swing of the machete resulted in a chop wound that almost severed the digit. Despite his injury, Diaz would later check himself out of the Western Regional Hospital. Meanwhile, Belmopan police have since arrested and charged twenty-four-year-old Clifford Alvarado and charged him with maim.
