Cayo police booth replaced after fire
The Crimes Committee of San Ignacio and Santa Elena dedicated a new police booth today in Red Creek. The structure replaces the one which burned down earlier this year. The Crimes Committee raised the twenty thousand dollars necessary for its construction. Minister of Home Affairs Ralph Fonseca delivered the keynote address during a ceremony this morning, which was attended by the Commissioner of Police Gerald Westby and Officer in Charge of San Ignacio/Santa Elena Gilroy Nicholas. Crimes Committee Chairman Andre Lopez handed over the keys to police on behalf of the citizens and business community. The booth is located between miles sixty-four and sixty-five on the Western Highway.
